The word "dinosaur" is ancient Greek and means "terrible lizard." The appearance of many dinosaurs was truly scary: they could reach 20 meters or more in length and were covered with shells, helmets, spikes, had a spiky crest and other "decorations".
Despite this, huge monsters, often densely covered with thorns, were herbivorous and good-natured.

The largest herbivore dinosaur was the apatosaurus (from the Latin Apatosaurus, the “deceptive lizard”, formerly called the Brontosaurus, from the Latin Brontosaurus) - a real mountain of meat and bones. It could grow up to 20-23 meters in length, and body weight could be up to 24-32 tons. As he walked, his steps made the earth tremble, making a noise like thunder.
